Last Friday night, March 9th – Jay and I got all dolled up. I put on a sparkly silver linen dress and red high heels. Jay put on his suit and a snappy red and silver striped button down. I straightened my hair and found out that all of my mascara has dried up. But there is no photographic proof – because we didn’t take photos. If I had to guess – I would say we looked vaguely like this photo from a couple of years ago – I mean – I wore that dress, but Jay had on his suit. Silly us.
You might be asking yourselves what we got all dressed up for. Well, it was the premium of Sight & Sounds new production Jesus.
See – since arriving in Intercourse, we haven’t had a chance to attend a show at Sight & Sound. When the beautiful invite for the premier of Jesus arrived – we jumped on that! We have heard from our guests who attended Sampson in 2016 and Jonah last year what an amazing theatre Sight & Sound is. That they use live animals in the productions. That they truly bring the bible to life.
Well – let me tell you – Jesus did not disappoint. From the beginning when the theatre lights dimmed and the stars started to twinkle right up until the very end this show was magical.
The sets were amazing – in front of us and on both sides. I think you could go several times and see a different production every time because you were looking someplace else. It’s truly incomprehensible of all that is going on at the same time. Large boats are sailing – actually sailing on the stage in water! There is walking on water and rain. The show is filled with live animals as well – I saw Indigo the blue healer several times around the set, horses, goats, pigs, doves and sheep – that I can remember.
I have included Sight & Sound’s Facebook live video from the premier. I don’t know how long it is – but this show was amazing. Regardless of your religious beliefs, we believe you will enjoy this show! Jay and I give this show a 10! In fact, we are considering seeing it again – just to see what we might have missed.
We wanted to let you know that when you book a room at Carriage Corner, we are able to get slightly discounted tickets to productions such as Jesus at Sight & Sound. Just make a note when you make your reservation. We wandered around the theatre and honestly, there are no bad seats here (although you could possibly be too close to the front) whether you sit in the center front, or in the balcony you’ll be thrilled you attended the show!
Broadcasting live from the world premiere of JESUS! Check out this exclusive sneak peek of the first scene from the show! #Jesus2018 #SightandSoundTheatres #WheretheBibleComestoLife
