When you stay at Carriage Corner, the original B&B of Intercourse, we want you to be able to really relax and enjoy your stay with us.  We like to think of Carriage Corner as if you were staying with family that you loved.  That comfortable feeling – you know the one, where you walk around without shoes and curl up on the sofa.  We have done our best to make the Great Room open, bright, warm & inviting.  We are still working with the furniture we ‘inherited’ with this business, but are constantly moving the furniture around to provide as much seating for as many guests at one time as possible.  Before we owned our Carriage Corner, we would stay in bed and breakfast and one of our favorite parts was always the interaction with other guests and the friendships that evolve.  We are doing our best to foster that environment.

We have an ongoing jigsaw puzzle on the table looking out over the original Stoltzfus Homestead.  The Homestead is a very popular venue for weddings and the pasture across the street is lovely and vibrantly green.  On early fall mornings, you will sometimes see hot air balloons float by.

In the front yard, we’ve added a swing and a few more chairs to relax and watch the world go buy – and maybe an Amish Buggy or two.  Don’t forget the gazebo where you can sit with the beverage of your choice and read a book or have a quiet conversation.  Both the house and gazebo have Christmas lights strung on them to make us easier to find in the evenings and make sitting out into dusk that much more enjoyable.

In the back, we’ve added a gas BBQ grill that guests are able to use for those nights when you just want to cook your own dinner.  We also installed a beautiful flagstone patio with a gas fire-pit which is surrounded by colorful Adirondack chairs.  Quite often I have homemade marshmallows and usually have the rest of the fixen’s needed for smores.  Don’t forget about the back deck – it’s the perfect place for that first cuppa in the morning or to have lunch.

We also have a ‘games’ cupboard stocked with all the usual suspects, including:  cribbage; clue; dominos and scrabble to name a few – please pull your favorite game out and have a blast.  Or for those long summer evenings – grab boccie ball or Kings Cross and get a competition going with guests from other rooms.

But mostly, we want you to feel as comfortable as if you were staying with family – without the stress and drama.
