Here at Carriage Corner, we really want you to be able to relax and enjoy your stay with us. We are constantly moving the furniture around in the main floor common area to provide enough seating for as many guests at one time as possible. One of our favorite parts about staying in a bed and breakfast is the interaction with other guests and the friendships that evolve. We are doing our best to foster that environment.
We have an ongoing jigsaw puzzle on the table looking out over the original Stoltzfus Homestead. The Homestead is a very popular venue for weddings and the pasture across the street is lovely and vibrantly green.
In the front yard, we’ve added a swing and a few more chairs to relax and watch the world go buy – and maybe an Amish Buggy or two. Occasionally on a clear morning, you can watch a hot air balloon float by over the Stoltzfus Homestead. Don’t forget the gazebo where you can sit with the beverage of your choice and read a book or have a quiet conversation.
In the back, we’ve added a BBQ grill that guests are able to use for those nights when you just want to cook your own dinner and have installed a gas fire-pit surrounded by colorful Adirondack chairs. Quite often I have homemade marshmallows and usually have the rest of the fixen’s needed for smores.
We also have a ‘games’ cupboard stocked with all the usual suspects, including: cribbage; clue; and scrabble to name a few – please ull your favorite game out and have a blast. Or for those long summer evenings – grab boccie ball or Kings Cross and get a competition going with guests from other rooms.
But mostly, we want you to feel as comfortable as if you were staying with family – without the stress and drama.
